The role of leader in a project extends beyond the Project Manager, to any supervisor responsible for the performance and deliverables of various project teams. The leadership role poses a formidable challenge to any project professional and especially the “CEO” of the project - the Project Manager. The skills necessary to guide project teams to successful achievement of project objectives can be learned and cultivated, in the same way as other project skills.

Effective leadership behavior is crucial to managing the stakeholder community, and maintaining the confidence and support of key groups and individuals. Consequently, the ability of project leaders to produce high quality performance, with clear and effective communication, can make a significant contribution to project success. This course provides participants with practical skills to inspire project teams to greater performance, with emphasis on human skills and building productive project relationships.

Objectives of this workshop:

At the end of the course, participants will have gained skills and knowledge in:

A. Developing a project vision and purpose to empower the project     team.

B. Identifying and tapping into each individual’s inner leadership     potential.

C. Guiding and harnessing the emotional and collaborative potential     of the project team.

D. Optimizing environmental influences that have an effect on the     project’s performance.

E. Creating, nurturing and sustaining project stakeholder relationships.
