Profile of Trainer: Dr Dominic Hu Khie Yeen
Dr Dominic holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Management from University of Technology Sarawak, Malaysia; Master of Science (MSc) in Professional Accountancy from University of London, United Kingdom and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University, United Kingdom. He is an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer. He is also a Chartered Accountant by training in Malaysia and a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), United Kingdom.
Previously, Dr Dominic was one of the key accounting personnel in various organisations including mid-tier audit firms, small enterprises, multinational company and listed company for over 10 years. Thus, he has extensive experience in several industries such as auditing, financing, international trade, manufacturing, insurance, plantation and investment holding. His last position as an accountant in the Chief Operating Officer (COO) office has him contributed in overseeing both financial and operation performance of the listed company as a whole.
Currently, Dr Dominic is the founder of a boutique firm which provides accounting training, software and management service since 2022 before he has become a lecturer of Bachelor in Accounting program by UCSI university in a private college since 2017. Over the years, he had been invited as the speaker or trainer for several accountancy public awareness talks and training sessions as well as in-house session for public listed companies which hosted or funded by and global professional accountancy body, government agencies and non-governmental organisations. Among them are Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK, Yayasan Peneraju, The Incorporated Society of Planters (ISP), Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC), Yayasan Sarawak’s wholly-owned subsidiary – Sarawak Centre of Excellence (SCOPE), Sarawak Business Federation (SBF), Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sarawak (ACCCIS), Sarawak Oil Palm Plantation Owners Association (SOPPOA), Startup Entrepreneur Association Sarawak, United Chinese Association (UCA) and Junior Chamber International (JCI).
Nowadays, Dr Dominic is passionate in designing and conducting practical hands-on Financial Reporting and Malaysian Taxation training programs for those working adults who would like to venture into accounting function or advance their accountancy career effectively and efficiently. The programs that have been developed include e-Invoice Essentials for Implementation, Sales and Service Tax Essentials for Beginner, Service Tax Essentials for Implementation, Accounting & Financial Statements, Practical Full Set Account with Software, Business Tax Essential, Capital Allowance Essentials, Form EA, E and CP58 Preparation, Financial Statement Analysis for Decision Making and Business Finance Essential for Non-financial professionals.
